Leander Paes out of French Open; Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna advance

Leander Paes’ French Open 2017 journey came to an end on Friday as he lost both his men’s doubles and mixed doubles matches.

In men’s doubles second round, Paes and Scott Lipsky lost 6-7 (3), 2-6 to Marrero and Robredo in one hour and 31 minutes.

In mixed doubles first round, Paes and Martina Hingis lost to fourth seed Katarina Srebotnik and Raven Klaasen 4-6, 6-1, 2-10.

However, Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza won their matches with respective partners. Second-seeded Sania and Ivan Dodig entered the mixed doubles second round with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Darija Jurak and Mate Pavic.

In men’s doubles, ninth seeds Rohan Bopanna and Pablo Cuevas defeated Denis Istomin and Treat Huey 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-4.
