Bollywood’s all time favourite playback singer Sonu Nigam is to make a comeback as one of the judges on singing reality show Indian Idol after a gap of 10 years.
Nigam, who judged the Sony TV show for seasons 1 and 2, is returning for its upcoming seventh instalment.
“For the family.... Here’s #maukekidastak ... Congrats.. We are back.. With #IndianIdol,” the 43-year-old wrote on Twitter alongside a short video of himself announcing the comeback of the show.
Details on the other judges, hosts and the airing date of the show are yet to be revealed. The sixth season of Indian Idol premiered in 2012. It was judged by Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Salim Merchant. Veteran singer Asha Bhosle joined the judging panel after the audition rounds.
While the show has been absent from the small screen for four years now, its spin-off, Indian Idol Junior, premiered in 2013, and was followed by a second season in 2015.
