Watch | Australian town battles ‘hairy panic’
Tumbleweed known as 'hairy panic' has inundated homes in the rural Australian town of Wangaratta, clogging homes and frustrating residents complaining of the clean-up time. As winds pick up, the wild tumbleweed covers properties, gardens and garages. Tumbleweed has been around for a couple of years, but the dry conditions have made this summer the worst. Since it comes with no risk of fire, the local council has refused help with cleaning up and residents have to battle the menace on their own.
