Watch | Rare gyrfalcon caught on camera in Canada
The white gyrfalcon, the largest falcon species in the world, was recorded on a live camera at the top of an observation tower at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre in Canada. The rare bird breeds in arctic and subarctic regions of the northern hemisphere. It preys on large birds by pursuing them in flight. Although the species is known to inhabit the region in winter, they are hardly ever noticed by people.
