Four youths go missing during a swim in the sea in coastal Andhra

“The mishap occurred when a group of 15 youngsters from Vijayawada ventured into sea at Gullalamoda beach for a swim. Four among them are feared to have been washed away,” said Krishna district SP Vijayakumar.

Police launched a search operation with the help of local swimmers and fishermen, who were also joined by Marine Police. However, the young men -- all in their 20s -- have not been traced yet.

The four missing have been identified as V Lashmana Rao, G Anilkumar, R Laxmana Rao and R Ramesh.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
