Art beat: Delhi’s days of many musings
When the concept of The Buddha meets sensuous nudes and they both sing the song of nature under the same roof, you know young art in Delhi has arrived.
art and culture Updated: May 29, 2014 19:37 ISTWhen the concept of The Buddha meets sensuous nudes and they both sing the song of nature under the same roof, you know young art in Delhi has arrived.
An ongoing exhibition in town, titled, The TriArt, brings together varied works by artists Anushka and Mukesh, Puneet Kumar, Pankaj Nigam, Sanjeev Sinha, Binay Kumar and Sunil Saini. While the first duo works on nudes, specially the sensuous female body, to bring out unbridled femininity, Nigam’s musings are about one’s inner quest, about the search of one’s own Buddha. "I believe that you can be the light when there is dark — that you can stand strong when faith shatters," says Nigam.
Talking about his work, Sinha says nature is the biggest inspiration for anyone. "I found the peacock as my character to explore the unbounded beauty of nature and the rain," he adds.
