ISKCON


At ISKCON, East of Kailash, a number of celebrations are lined up that begin with the Abhishek with an fusion of East-West chants at 9 am on August 22, followed by a theatre play by Vaikunth players at 8 pm on August 23, which is also celebrated as the Srila Prabhupada (founder of ISCKON) appearance day. There will also be prasad distribution throughout the day.

At ISCKON, Gurgaon, the day will begin with Ecstatic Kirtan, where devotees from around the world will sing bhajans. The evening will be marked by a lavish chappan bhoga and fireworks. At Punjabi Bagh, there will be a Mangal Arti at 4 am, followed by Sringar Arti.

The institute will present a dance drama depicting Krishna’s life, produced and directed by Padamshree Shobha Deepak Singh. A photography exhibition featuring actors playing the role Krishna will be set up. The performance will take place today and tomorrow at 6.30 pm at Kamani Auditorium.

Enjoy Janmashtami revelry with stalls exhibiting Krishna idols, costumes, jewellery, jhoolas, T-shirts, and more. A theatrical performance, Krishna — a three-part story adaptation of ancient Vedic literature — will also be presented in the evening.
