The festival titled Tri Continental film festival is all set to give a perspective to Delhiites on the issues plaguing human happiness across the globe, writes Garima Sharma.

It seems that Delhi is gradually gaining awareness on issues of human rights as consecutive events address the problems in creative forms. A classic example is the film festival being held in the city from January 15-18, 2009. The festival titled Tri Continental film festival is all set to give a perspective to Delhiites on the issues plaguing human happiness across the globe.

The festival was first introduced to India in 2004. This year, it promises a screening of 28 selected films from more than 20 countries. Dealing with a wide range of subjects, the movies being screened at the festival explore issues like exploitation, violence, destitution, apathy as well as internal turmoils of people across continents.

The festival will be held at the India Habitat Centre as well as the Alliance Francaise de Delhi, New Delhi and then travel across different cities in India.
