Addressing mediapersons, the DMK supremo said that talks were still on with the DMDK leader and said he was more than hopeful that the alliance would work out.

Karunanidhi was to brief the media on Monday but it was abruptly cancelled fuelling speculations over the hiccups in alliance talks with Vijayakant, who has been keeping all his suitors guessing.

Yesterday, there was speculations that Vijayakant’s brother-in-law Sutheesh was in the Capital meeting BJP leaders. However, this was dismissed by BJP leader and union environment minister Prakash Javdekar, who is party incharge for Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

“We have not imposed any conditions,” was Karunanidhi’s reply to a question if the conditions put forth by the two parties were coming in the way of an announcement.
