The direction came on the petition of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which had approached high court seeking security measures for EVMs stored in different parts of the state.

AAP had demanded that CCTVs should be installed for monitoring, among other measures.

It was submitted that authorities were dealing with security of EVMs “casually’ and were “failing” in providing proper security.

It was also alleged that in some constituencies EVMs stored in strong rooms, were not properly secured and candidates are not being allowed to inspect the same.
