She said her husband was man of probity who was being framed in the case along with other cops. She also expressed concern over the safety of her children in the absence of husband, who is on the run. Haq was booked on charge of attempt to murder, loot, rioting and criminal intimidation along with other cops, including ASP Rajesh Sharma, a source close to Haq’s family said on Thursday.

Haq’s close relatives, who live in his native district Anuppur, had also called on a senior police official in Bhopal and expressed concern over their security after the Balaghat episode.

“We told a senior police official about a police inspector who came to our house on September in search of Zia. The next day the cop along with subordinates told us that there was a possibility of attack or loot in our house over the Balaghat episode. Since then we’re living in constant fear,” one of Haq’s close relatives told HT on terms on anonymity.

Meanwhile, MP home minister Bhoopendra Singh evaded replies over media queries pertaining to the Balaghat episode, including the shunting of Balaghat IG DC Sagar.

At a program to flag off a new fleet of Dial 100 First Response Vehicles (FRVs) in Bhopal on Thursday, Singh said with latest advancements in the Dial 100 service, the MP police had come at par with Washington police.

The RSS pracharak, Suresh Yadav, presently hospitalized in Jabalpur has sustained multiple injuries, was allegedly beaten up in custody at Baihar police station on September 25. Yadav was accused of uploading objectionable post against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on the social media.
