CBI arrests Sagar varsity former VC for illegal recruitments

A CBI team on Monday arrested NC Gajbhiye, the former vice-chancellor of Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar, from Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) for his alleged involvement in the varsity’s recruitment scam.

A CBI team on Monday arrested NC Gajbhiye, the former vice-chancellor of Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar, from Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) for his alleged involvement in the varsity’s recruitment scam.

A CBI team from Jabalpur led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Naresh Indora, arrested him. Presently, Gajbhiye is professor in the chemistry department of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (UP).

The searches were conducted at the premises of Gajbhiye at the IIT campus Kanpur on Feburary 20 last and he was not available at that time and was reportedly at Mumbai pertained to recruitment of teaching faculty of at the Mumbai University, the CBI officials said. The CBI arrested him after he returned from Mumbai.
