Nearly 20 people, including children, were injured while a mob set afire several shops. The trouble started when a group objected to loud music being played by those participating in the procession at a locality in Rahatgarh. Soon, the dispute turned ugly with both sides pelting stone at each other.

Reports reaching the town said curfew has been imposed in the town and heavy police forces were deployed to avoid any untoward incident.

Superintendent of Police, Sachin Atulkar said the situation was under control. “Action will be taken after the identity of those involved in the rioting is established. A case has been registered and investigation is on,” the SP said.
