Gas survivors take out rally in Bhopal to press demands of timely pension

Gas survivors, who are eligible for different categories of pension and are facing problems in getting it, took out a rally on Tuesday. The survivors also held protests before the BMC headquarters.

Gas survivors, who are eligible for different categories of pension and are facing problems in getting it, took out a rally on Tuesday. The survivors also held protests before the headquarters of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) to press their demands of timely and full payment of pension.

The rally, which started from Iqbal Maidan and culminated at Sadar Manzil — the headquarters of the BMC — was organised by the Gas Peedit Nirashrit Pension Bhogi Sangharsh Morcha.

The protestors demanded that they should get the pension in their bank accounts before fifth of every month besides effective implementation of public service guarantee provisions for the public welfare schemes, resolving the issues related to pension and National Family Assistance Scheme payments within 60 days and so on.

Among the demonstrators were president of the Sangharsh Morcha Balkrishna Namdeo, Rampyari Bai Yadav, Prembai, Firoza Bi, Zulekha Bi, Chironjibai, Puniabai and others.
