Special sessions judge Sanjeev Kalgaonkar dismissed Tiwari's application on Monday stating that the charge against him was of a serious nature due to which it would be improper to give him bail.

Tiwari's counsel told the court that his client was too old and his long political career was without blemish due to which he should be given bail.

However, the prosecution opposed Tiwari's bail plea stating that it would be improper to grant him bail as the charge against him was of a serious nature.
