Actor Aamir Khan, who was to be in the US, will be returning earlier than planned after the actor got to know that his mother Zeenat Hussain wanted him to spend his 51st birthday with her on March 14. “He was supposed to be in the US till the end of the month but will have to cut short his trip and return in six days,” a Mumbai tabloid quoted a source as saying.

Of late, Aamir has been in news for his statement on the growing intolerance in the country. Last November, amid the raging debate over India’s alleged growing intolerance and artistes, writers, historians and so on returning their national distinctions in protest, the actor said his wife Kiran Rao had contemplated leaving India. “When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day,” the 50-year-old said.
