Ace director, superstar meet Mamata for WB's turnaround in film domain

"The measures should include, among others, a single window clearance for shooting a film by the directors from other parts of the country or even a director from another country," Ghosh said after the two-hour-long meeting with the chief minister at the state secretariat Writers' Building.
Ghosh said at present film directors from other states and countries have to run from one office to another for clearance to shoot their films in the state.
"This is long-winded and leads to wastage of time, which could be saved through a single window clearance for filmmakers," Ghosh said.
"If we can promote an international film market in the state, productions from the state will draw global attention fetching more awards, besides generating employment for many people," he said.
Stating Bengal has tremendous potential in film industry and in recent times also emerged as a destination following success of several films one after another, both Ghosh and Chatterjee concurred several filmmakers from South India and Bollywood are interested to shoot in Bengal.
Bengal boasts off myriad locations ranging from the Himalayans to the Sundarbans, they pointed out.
They said Banerjee has promised to look into the matter and has asked them to submit a detailed proposal on the issue.
