New behind-the-scenes pictures of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from her latest film, Fanney Khan, have been released online following the film’s lukewarm box office innings. In the pictures, shared by fan accounts, Aishwarya can be seen wearing a frilly white dress, while makeup artists attend to her.

Aishwarya plays the popstar Baby Singh in the film, about a doting father who wants nothing more than to see his overweight daughter become a singing sensation. So he kidnaps Baby and thus begins an emotional story about realising ones dreams despite the odds.

In another picture, Aishwarya can be seen posing for the camera with looks that could kill. While she doesn’t have significant screen time in the final film - Fanney Khan is very much Anil Kapoor’s movie - she has attracted a lot of attention for her role. In another picture, she is sitting on a couch, wearing a velvety black dress with golden embellishments.

Fanney Khan, directed by Atul Manjrekar, has been a huge failure at the box office. The film has made 7.5 crore in four days of release, trailing Irrfan Khan’s Karwaan and last week’s champion, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

Reviews for the film have also been mixed, with critics praising the emotions but criticising the simplistic take of the film.

At a recent interview, Aishwarya spoke being multifaceted. “It’s something I’ve grown up with. From the time I was 18, I’ve been juggling with many responsibilities. My day begins at 5.30 a.m. It has been that way from the time I remember. Of course, after Aaradhya my priorities have changed completely. She comes first, everything else is secondary,” Aishwarya said.
