In an interview to Rajeev Masand, Aishwarya talked about how she is not a stranger to Mumbai’s famous local trains or buses. Rajeev talks about a scene from her film Fanney Khan in which she boards a taxi and asks her about the last time she took a taxi home and Aishwarya took a walk down memory lane. “I remember during the Miss World year, I used the Tube a lot in London and people would be like ‘Haye yeh bechari, she is Miss World?’ I mean no they were not making me slum out but I am choosing to do this. So it’s not about being treated less better and I chose to do that,” she said.

She also talked about how she got her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan to use cabs in London. “This time I wanted to take the bus and I want to do all this with Aaradhya and I will... because I have done the bus and the train and everything as a college kid. I know exactly what it gets like at Dadar station, I know what it is like in buses and I know how the rainy season is just not the easiest at all on public transport,” she said.

“And I am not saying that I need to kind of shove Aaradhya into all that in the coming years. At the end of the day, we have to consider all aspects of life. It is not that one is going to treat her privileged, but at the same time, just to prove a point I am not going to be irresponsible as her mother. I am gonna have to gauge circumstances in the time. But at the same time, while one can, I definitely want to give her an idea of what life is like for everybody,” she said.

Aishwarya’s Fanney Khan is a one of its kind musical comedy, revolving around a father who wishes to fulfil his daughter’s dream of becoming a singer. Helmed by Atul Manjrekar, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The flick is slated to hit the screens on August 3.

She will also be seen with Abhishek after eight years in Gulab Jamun .
