Actor Rakul Preet Singh is happy with the response her upcoming film is garnering. The actor plays a software engineer and is paired opposite actor Sidharth Malhotra in Neeraj Pandey’s movie, Aiyaary. The film has an ensemble cast that includes actors Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Adil Hussain, Pooja Chopra, among others. There have been instances when actors have had issues with their screen space in a film starring multiple actors. But Rakul is confident both about her craft and choice of films.

“It’s fine. I am not doing a love story, and neither am I living in a fool’s paradise. I know what I am doing. It’s a content-driven film where every role has its prominence. I would rather be a part of a film like this where content wins over screen time, any day. In Neeraj sir’s films, every character has his or her significance. Sonia, my character, is an intelligent and headstrong girl. She is an integral part of the core plot, and you will know what I mean when you watch the film. What else could I have asked for?” says Rakul, who is busy promoting the film, and shooting for her next with actor Ajay Devgn.

Rakul made her Hindi film debut with the 2014 film, Yaariyan, which proved to be a success at the box-office. The film also featured actor Himansh Kohli. Earlier, the release date of Aiyaary got shifted from January 26 to February 9 to avoid a clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer PadMan, but then the team of PadMan decided moved their release date to make way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat from January 26 to February 9. So both the movies (Aiyaary and PadMan)were to release on the same day. However, now the film (Aiyaary) might get pushed February 16.
