Alia Bhatt talks about the moment she started crying at Coldplay concert
Alia Bhatt admits she got teary-eyed when she saw the band’s frontman Chris Martin on stage in Berlin.
Last month, a number of Bollywood stars, including Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Fawad Khan let their hair down at Coldplay’s concert in Berlin, Germany. But for Alia, who is a big fan of the band’s frontrunner Chris Martin, attending the concert was nothing less than a dream come true.

In fact, the actor got emotional and teary-eyed when she saw Martin step out on stage. The 23-year-old also attended a Beyoncé concert on the same trip.

“I love Coldplay, especially Chris, and I love their songs. I am a big fan. I love Beyoncé too. But I am not as clued into her music. Coldplay’s music is part of my morning routine. I wake up and listen to A Head Full Of Dreams (Coldplay’s new album) from start to finish,” says Alia, adding, “When I was there (at the concert), and I saw Coldplay and Chris on stage, I started crying. Imagine! I saw Chris Martin come up on stage and sing ‘Yellow’. I couldn’t believe it. It was amazing. The energy was crazy in Berlin. It was great.”

Alia calls the experience “epic”, and adds that she can still “relive those memories” in her head. “The stadium was huge. There were so many people there; around 80,000. I am a fan [of Chris], and I wish I could meet him,” says the actor, who attended the concert with Deepika, Fawad and director Shakun Batra.

In June, Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, too, had attended a Coldplay concert — she had also met the band — in London, UK. “They (Coldplay) had a small charity function in London, and then this big tour [in Berlin]. I had the option of going for that event too. But I wanted to go for the main concert with real energy and lots of people,” says Alia.
