Actor Angad Bedi, who is currently shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, has bagged a major project. He will soon be seen with his Pink co-star, Taapsee Pannu, in her next film on hockey player Sandeep Singh.
Angad will train in hockey with the rest of the cast before heading to Punjab early in October for shooting. We have also learnt that he may essay the role of Sandeep’s elder brother Bikramjeet in the Shaad Ali film.
Contrary to earlier reports, the film is not a biopic on Sandeep Singh - the former captain of Indian hockey team - and focuses on his love life.
Talking about the project, Angad told Hindustan Times, “It’s been a year of Pink. We have shared some really good memories. She’s (Taapsee) a great friend and a co-star to work with. If this works out, it will be a great collaboration. Diljit has found the love of the audience. Three Sikhs in one film will be amazing.”
A source close to the film said, “An important part of the story revolves around the two brothers, with the older one making Sandeep realise what hockey really means to him. Bikramjeet even trained Sandeep in the early years. Angad will be meeting Bikramjeet to understand his character well, who will also train him while Sandeep will work with Diljit on his game.”
