As Dia Mirza vacations in Kenya, an African rhino is named after her. See pics

Dia Mirza has been totally taken in by the beauties of the wild as she posts pictures from Kenya’s Masai Mara National Park. She also shared a picture of the baby rhinoceros named after her.

Dia Mirza is passionate about nature and environment. If you follow her Instagram posts, routinely featuring in them are posts on the said topic. She, as we all know, is a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador. Her recent campaign against the single use of plastic has been quite visible.

The petite and pretty actor has an all-new feather in her cap. An African rhinoceros has been named after her. Sharing the news, Dia wrote on Instagram: “I want to thank Hamid Hussain and Muhammad Yaqoob and the entire team at #OlPejetaConservancy including Richard, Sarah and Elodie for naming this amazing #Rhino baby after me! Please support Hamid and Richard in their mission in helping save and conserve wildlife. Do visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy and stay at the amazing Serena Sweetwaters property there. In the picture we see a gorgeous rhino baby running alongside his/her mother in the wild. Together, they look majestic.

Dia is surely enjoying her time at Masai Mara, Kenya. She posted a spectacular picture of a Kenyan sunset and wrote how she was born to tell nature’s stories. She wrote: “As we watched the sun set, soaking in all the magical sights we had seen on our first safari out in the Mara I couldn’t help but think to myself that #NaturesCanvas is truly the greatest... My purpose clearer to me, I was born to tell natures’ stories, to share with the world the magic that unites us, defines us, feeds us, embraces and protects us. Nature is the greatest democracy and in her lap we will always find joy!”

He also posted couple of pictures of men of the Masai tribe, deep in the forest. Dressed in their traditional dress, these tall and handsome men make for an amazing viewing, their bright coloured drapes reflecting perfectly against their skin. They are slender and tall and look statuesque.

She wrote: “Jambo!!! Hello in Swahili! As the Masaai Chief welcomed us with a traditional Masaai dance it was apparent why the tribe is known to have some of the tallest people in the world... despite westernisation and urbanisation the Masaai tribe live deeply connected to their traditions and culture. The burst of colour their presence adds to the Savannah is a sight to behold! They speak English and Swahili and their native language is Maa.”
