“They wanted a voice that was inspiring and soothing to hear. I was told that after Maine Pyar Kiya, people identified my voice with love and innocence — a young mother’s voice. The experience was novel since I had to relate to just a face and express emotions through my voice,” says the actor, who was last seen in Red Alert – The War Within.

The animated film, directed by Sachin Gote, is due to release in October 2010. Baru – The Wonder Kid is the story of a 12-year-old orphan boy Baru and his courageous journey to rescue his sister Anannya, from the clutches of the Devil Prince Zukayu.

Bhagyashree is not the only one to have dubbed for this film. The other artistes, whose voices will also be heard, include Jagjit Singh, Avika Gor, Anushka, Sharad Kelkar Vrajesh Hirjee and Nandu Madhav.
