Actor Mallika Sherawat talks about her days in Delhi University’s Miranda House.

I had a great time at the Delhi University. I graduated in Philosophy Honours from Miranda House, and the college had a very cultural atmosphere that was high on arts and learning.
Studying some of the world’s greatest philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and also Indian philosophy like Hindu philosophy, Jain philosophy, etc made me realise early on that we make our own destiny by the choices we make. I always thought that if these great minds are saying this, then it must be true, and that gave me the courage to follow my path … to be an actress and not succumb to the pressures of the society!
The high point of my college life came when my parents gifted me a car to drive to college, and I was thrilled at the thought that I won’t have to travel in the university special (bus)! The low point was when I failed in one of my exams ... I was devastated!
But that’s not what I carry with me. Instead, I choose to remember the good things. My most memorable moments were bunking classes and going to watch movies in a theatre nearby.
