Bollywood to shoot in Delhi
Bollywood is preparing to hot up the Capital over the next two months. Bollywood is preparing to hot up the Capital over the next two months. Six films will be shot in Delhi over February and March, and those upping the temperature will be actors Mallika Sherawat, Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and porn star Sunny Leone, to name a few.
The team of Amit Chandrra’s Kismat, Luv, Paisa, Dilli will arrive in Delhi on Monday, with the exception of Sherawat who’ll join later this week. “We’ll shoot at Buddha Garden, Nizamuddin, Connaught Place, Metro stations, India Gate and Saket,” says Chandrra.
The team of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, starring Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma, will be in the city later this month. Bhardwaj and Khan were in Delhi last December for the location recce. Khan had said, “I have to learn Haryanvi for my role (which is why I’m in Delhi).” The team will shoot till the end of February, mostly in West Delhi.
More March action will come from filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, who’ll shoot Jism 2 with Sunny Leone. “The film will show Delhi in all its glory. My husband (Manish Makhija) is a Delhi boy so I asked him about all the places he hung out at so I can shoot there,” she says. After being in Delhi through the month, the crew will move to Jaipur. Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will also be in the city around the same time to film his biopic on athlete Milkha Singh, to be played by Farhan Akhtar. “I have a schedule of 40 days in Delhi,” he says.
Buzz is actor Kamal Haasan will also be here for some scenes of his Tamil film Viswaroopam starring Rahul Bose, while Arya Babbar, Riya Sen and Veena Malik will shoot for Zindagi 50-50.
