Cinema and society: Bahastalab opens up the debate

Bahastalab, a debate-oriented film festival kick-starts in New Delhi today. Speakers at the event include filmmaker Sudhir Misra, writer-actor Peeyush Misra, actress Shilpa Shukla , actress Swara Bhaskar, director Anand L Rai and actor Deepak Dobriyal.

The movie should have been made differently. The protagonist should have acted differently. Do you often have such thoughts? The two-day event, organised by Mohalla Live, brings some of the leading directors and actors under one roof for an open interaction on the evolution of cinema, its history, the missing elements and more. Cine Bahastalab, when literally translated to English, means 'the itch to argue'.

The gala, an informal, no-fuss celebration, will include three sessions on each of the two days.
