The 28-year-old actor of French descent began her career in hubby Anurag Kashyap’s art-house film, Dev D. After starring in films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Shaitan, her comedy film, My Friend Pinto, released recently.

“I began my career with a bold character which generally an actor doesn’t take up in her starting days. I enjoy acting and started taking Hindi classes to learn the diction. Initially, it is tough for me but to make a mark in the industry I have to learn various nuances,” Kalki says.

She feels comedy is spontaneous and struggles to be subtle with it. “Comedy is difficult to do because it is spontaneous and timing is an important part. It is easy to be over the top but it hard to be subtle in the comedy. That is the most challenging part,” she says.
