This could well be one Ghanchakkar moment for Emraan Hashmi. In a rare development, while those attached to Emraan Hashmi have seen his upcoming film Ghanchakkar, he is yet to have a dekko at it. This, when he himself organized a show for his close associates.
"Last Friday Emraan called up many of his director friends with whom he has been associated for long. Mohit Suri, Kunal Deshmukh, Aditya Dutt - They were all extended a personal invitation to watch Ghanchakkar. His immediate family, including his wife and other relatives were around as well. However, and ironically, he himself was missing from the screening. He just couldn't make it," says a friend of the actor.
It wasn't a Ghajini moment for Emraan though. As a matter of fact, he remembered all about the event. However, he had to opt out of it at the last minute since he has been keeping unwell for a while due to an eye infection.
"He is a little under the weather and thought of catching the film later in the week," the friend adds, "Since he has been promoting the film quite extensively, he felt that it would be better to catch up on some rest instead of spending an entire evening on the screening. When you step in for your film, it is inevitable that there are many post-screening discussions as well. There are also chances of an impromptu party or a get together being planned as well. Emraan is anyways not a late night person and decided to stay at home instead."
Of course it wasn't as straight forward as it sounded as he was inundated with calls post the film's screening. While there was some terrific feedback that started pouring in, there was a sense of relief for the actor.
"He is now geared up for the film's promotion for the week to come," says a source from UTV which is producing the film, "He would be travelling across the country and there is an overseas visit planned as well. Thankfully he is doing much better now and is all charged up for the film's release."
As for the screening, he is expected to watch the final cut for the first time in a day or two. Well, it may be just turn out that despite being the film's lead, he is the last to watch the film.
