Emraan Hashmi's Mr X earns Rs 13.99 crore over weekend

Emraan Hashmi's not-so-thrilling disappearing act with Amyra Dastur in Mr X is making its presence felt on the box office: Since its release on Friday, the Vikram Bhatt-directed film collected Rs 13.99 crore in the first weekend.

The film made an opening collection of Rs 4.5 crore on Friday, falling a bit on Saturday with Rs 4.39 crore, and touching Rs 5.1 crore on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Kalki Koechlin-starrer Margarita A Straw earned Rs 2.12 crore over the first weekend. Made at an estimated budget of Rs 5.3 crore, Shonali Bose's film is the journey of self-discovery of Laila, a young woman who is a patient of cerebral palsy. Kalki plays Laila in the movie that received wide critical acclaim.
