Huma Qureshi’s intense performance in the recently released Badlapur is receiving rave reviews. And, if things fall in place, the actor could be seen in yet another challenging role in director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next. Over the last couple of years, Tigmanshu’s project (originally named Milan Talkies) found itself inthe midst of several controversies.

First, it was actor Imran Khan walking out of the film owing to differences with producer Ekta Kapoor. Then, the makers got Shahid Kapoor on board, but even he quit the project. The movie then was offered to several other actors, but, it did not work out. It seems that the film is destined to be made with Imran, because recently, he and Ekta patched up and the actor reattached himself to the project.

With Imran back, the makers are looking for a female lead, who can deliver a power-packed performance.

An industry insider reveals, “Last week, the makers approached Huma for the film. The role is very character-driven, so they want someone who can give it more muscle than what’s chalked out.” However, Huma is yet to read the script, as she was busy with the promotions of Badlapur. “Discussions are on, but something concrete will happen only when she gives her nod,” adds the source.

Interestingly, Huma and Tigmanshu have worked together as actors in the Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) series.
