A source told

, "Both Homi and Dinesh Vijan were keen to cast the pair in their film. Deepika had already worked with Dinesh in Love Aaj Kal and once the promos of

Break Ke Baad

came on air, they locked the pair as they were convinced that the chemistry the couple shares works perfectly for their script which is a love story."

The source further added, "Deepika signed the film on Tuesday evening. Although Imran has worked with both Sonam and Genelia in his past films, this is the first time that filmmakers are talking about him having 'chemistry' with an actress."
