It all happened in a week: Shriya Pilgaonkar
For actor Shriya Pilgaonkar, who has been working on four varied projects, it has always been ‘travel to work’ and ‘work to travel’Updated: Aug 29, 2018 13:30 IST
Shriya Pilgaonkar is excited at the way this year has turned out for her. The actor, in the early half of the year, shot for Anubhav Sinha’s Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, a web series called Mirzapur, and 13 Mussoorie, a thriller. Now, she is in London shooting for Gurinder Chadha’s six part series Beecham House. “This year has been good so far. I have been a part of four different genres — a political satire, gangster drama, thriller and period drama. I have travelled from Varanasi to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh to Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, and now I am in London, UK. For me, it has always been a dream to ‘travel to work’ and ‘work to travel’,” says Shriya.
Interestingly, the actor adds that the entire signing of the contract and leaving for the shoot happened in a week. It was so sudden that she had to convey the message to her parents through a message. “It all happened in a week. It was a pleasant surprise and when I was signing the contract, I messaged my parents on our messaging group. I gave them the details when I got home. It took them a while to sink in.”
Shriya was upset about missing her mum’s 50th birthday, but she adds that her parents always want her to be happy and working. “They are happy and excited that I am getting these experiences and want me to keep collaborating and doing good work.”
On the ongoing shoot in London, Shriya shares, “I am literally this wide-eyed curious girl on the sets right now. I want to know everyone’s journey. I am interacting with everyone as much as I can.”
The team will be coming down to shoot the next schedule in Rajasthan and Shriya is excited about taking the cast around during that time. “I would like to show them the places around and give them a taste of our Indian hospitality.”
