Varun Dhawan’s successful streak at the box office seems to continue healthy as ever. The actor’s latest film, Judwaa 2, has minted Rs 36 crore at the box office in just two days of its release.
A reboot of the 1997 original starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha, the film made Rs 16 crore on Friday and saw a jump of Rs 20 crore on Saturday. When the figures for Sunday come in, the total is expected to rise much higher, perhaps making it one of the more successful films of the year.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest numbers and called the film’s progress ‘phenomenal.’ “#Judwaa2 is PHENOMENAL on Day 2... All set for a HUGE Sun and Mon [holiday]... Fri 16.10 cr, Sat 20.55 cr. Total: ₹ 36.65 cr. India biz,” he wrote in the tweet.

Judwaa 2 has Varun play a double role and also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. The film opened to largely negative reviews from critics but it seems like the audience is showering it with love anyway.
The film is directed by David Dhawan, who also made the original and also has a cameo by Salman Khan.
