Living legend: Amitabh Bachchan continues to inspire remakes

Amitabh Bachchan has ruled the film industry over four decades and continues to do so. Two of his films were re-made into blockbusters and a third superhit film is under-production. Now, the rights for re-visiting Andha Kanoon and Aakhree Raasta have been aqcuired too.
Farhan Akhtar began a frachise in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan playing Big B's role in his remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 blockbuster Don. In 2012, Karan Johar re-made Agneepath (1990) with Hrithik Roshan playing the character originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. Apoorva Lakhia is currently working with Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra for the remake of Zanjeer (1973).
Now, Amitabh Bachchan's two other superhits - Andha Kanoon (1983) and Aakhree Raasta (1986) will reportedly be re-made. Bollywood Hungama reports that Jayantilal Gada, the CMD of Pen India Pvt. Ltd acquired the rights of these films on Friday (June 28). While Amitabh Bachchan worked with Rajnikanth for Andha Kanoon, he starred opposite Sridevi in Aakhree Raasta.
