Vishwas Pandey, the director of his next film, wanted Manish to sport a muscular look for a sequence. So Manish decided to work towards getting the right physique.

“Since I had already gained weight, my trainer asked me to put on some more weight to further define and cut it into muscles. I was on the weight gain spree from July to September last year. But since I wore suits, people couldn’t make out that I had gained so much weight,” says Manish, adding that it was between October and January that he trained hard to get the new ripped look.

The actor followed a fitness training programme for four months. “I lost 15kg and did workouts suggested by my trainer on the beach, as it offers more resistance. I have successfully turned my body fat into muscles. I am really happy with the results. I will shoot a shirtless scene for the film,” says Manish.
The actor was almost 89kgs back then and now weighs 75. He had to follow a rigorous regime of work out and diet together. Manish says, “My trainer had put me on a very low carb diet, high on protein- including chicken, salads and protein shakes. I was completely off sweets and aerated drinks. The regime has become a part of my life now and has become a wonderful experience and changed me a lot. I am very happy about my current physique and wish to maintain it.”
