Priyanka Chopra is overwhelmed. The actor, who is currently in Los Angeles, USA, to complete some work on her debut music album, was thrilled to hear that her recent release, Anurag Basu’s Barfi! has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards 2013, in the foreign language-film category.

The actor, who is currently in Los Angeles, USA, to complete some work on her debut music album, was thrilled to hear that her recent release, Anurag Basu’s Barfi! has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards 2013, in the foreign language-film category.

“Elated, Priyanka made sure all her friends in LA watched the film with her. She has also been discussing it with the international media,” says a source, close to the actor. While Priyanka remained unavailable for a comment, her spokesperson informs us, “This is a very exciting time for everybody. Priyanka’s character has been appreciated a lot in Barfi!. She is rooting for the film.”
