Recollecting the opportunity to play the lead, she says that her father called her ‘very fat’ for the role. So, on her father and director Binoy Gandhi’s advice, she started working out. "It was difficult. I was training with Yasmin Karachiwala as I knew she has trained many people from the industry. I was on a strict diet and used to eat only salads and nothing else. It took me six months to lose 26 kilos. Then I started shooting for the film," says Nidhi.

Interestingly, she also reveals that she was notsupposed to be part of the film, but bagged the film by chance. "I happened to be present at the time when my father and the director were discussing the film. That time I just thought of reading out the lines of the script and that’s when both of them suggested that I should act in the film. But they told me that I should lose some weight. I was very fat then," says Nidhi.

The actor will lose more weight for the last schedule of the film. "I am still working out. I need to lose six more kilos as my role demands that. Also, a promotional song will be shot for which I needed to be fit and look better further. I just have one month’s time for that," she adds
