Renowned south actor, Prakash Raj, who was seen in a villainous avatar in Rohit Shetty’s Singham (2011), is now all set to change his on-screen image. We’ve been told that the 48-year-old actor will now be seen playing the role of an affable-yet-strict teacher to actor Farhan Akhtar in his next, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Milkha Singh biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB).
This will be Prakash’s first Hindi film role where he doesn’t play a negative character. A source close to the film reveals, “Prakash will be playing the
(teacher) to Farhan’s character in BMB. He will be seen as Farhan’s first teacher when he joins the army. His character is of a strict teacher, a commanding officer of the platoon, whose job is to push all the army cadets to their limits.”
Ask Mehra about the role and he says, “Prakash loved the script so much that he asked me how much he would have to pay me to be a part of BMB. Needless to say, he is an amazing actor.”
In the film, Prakash’s character’s job is to refine and discipline the cadets who have recently joined the army. The source says, “Milkha joins the armed forces after a rough phase during his younger days. There he meets his first teacher, who is not only a strict disciplinarian, but also very positive in his approach. He plays a very important role in Milkha’s life in terms of developing his mind and attitude.”
