Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wants to make a comedy film.

He has made three films set in Delhi (Rang De Basanti ; 2006, Delhi-6 ; 2009 and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag; 2013). And now, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra plans to show Delhi’s babu culture in a film.

“I would love to make a comedy film based on Shashtri Bhawan, around ‘babugiri’ and there are no second thoughts about it,” says Mehra. However, the film hasn’t been planned in detail yet. “It’s not that I have something concrete in mind. Delhi is such a power centre that I sometimes wonder why no one has done a story around this issue? It could shed a lot of light on what goes in the corridors of power in terms of things that move and those that don’t,” he says.

In fact, the filmmaker feels Delhi has many stories to tell. “Delhi is one of the oldest civilisations in the world. There are millions of stories that can be told for many years to come,” he says.
