The Rajnikanth-Aishwarya Rai starrer Robot released in 2,000 screens worldwide, half of them in India alone. The tri-lingual film, directed by Shankar, opened to a superb response and die-hard Rajni fans even performed poojas to his giant cutouts.

Girish Wankhede of Cinemax chain of multiplexes said the movie saw a 10 to 15 per cent occupancy in the morning show, “The response isn’t as frenzied as it is in Chennai. But I am confident that the collections will pick up through word of mouth.”



At Arora theatre in Matunga, huge cutouts of the superstar were seen and several fans thronged to watch their idol's latest venture.
