Salman Khan shed weight for Mental, not due to health issues

Recently, reports suggested that Salman Khan had shed some weight due to his health problems. Now, we have learnt that the real reason behind Salman’s leaner avatar is an extensive action sequence in Mental.

A few days ago, reports suggested that Salman Khan had shed some serious weight (apparently, due to his health scare, doctors had advised him to go slow on the heavy workouts). But now, we have learnt that the real reason behind Salman’s leaner avatar is an extensive action sequence in his next, Mental, directed by brother Sohail Khan.

“In a few days’ time, the climax scene will be shot. And since it involves a lot of jumping, kicking and hand-to-hand fighting, Salman didn’t want to look unprepared. He knows that an action sequence would be difficult to pull off if he were unfit or flabby,” says an insider close to the actor.

Apparently, Salman’s stunts for the film’s climax scene will be quite innovative. “It will involve a lot of flipping and hand-to-hand combat moves. That’s why both Salman and Sohail are trying to make it completely new and raw. Also, since it’s going to be his next release after a long time (his last film, Dabangg 2 released in December last year), Salman wants to give it his best,” adds the insider. Neither Salman nor Sohail could be reached for a comment.

This year, Salman doesn’t have a single release scheduled. The tentatively titled Mental will release in January next year. It’s believed that the Khan brothers tried hard to release it during Eid this year, but since the project had a lot of unfinished work, they couldn’t meet the deadline.
