As news broke that actor Sana Khan had allegedly tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl, the industry went abuzz with rumours about what will now happen to her Bollywood career. The actor, who was signed on as the second lead for Sohail Khan’s next Salman Khan-starrer, Mental, has apparently not been reporting on the sets of the movie ever since a complaint was lodged against her.
We get some reactions on the issue.
Rahul Mittra, producer
It depends on the seriousness of the case. Such controversies sometimes help small time actors but that depends on the actor’s credibility.
Sanjay Gupta, filmmaker
Right now, none of us are clear about the case. There have been so many instances when celebrities have been dragged into such issues without any rhyme or reason. So, at this point, no one should jump the gun and issue a verdict on Sana’s career. Let’s wait and watch.
Amod Mehra, trade analyst
This controversy will definitely hamper her career. If there’s any way that she’s proven innocent, even then there will be certain people who will be hesitant and might have problems
working with her.
Delnaz Irani, actor
This news is really shocking. She seemed to be a very sweet and helpful girl during our stay in the Bigg Boss house.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, former cricketer and commentator
Let the law take its own course; she lived with dignity in the Bigg Boss house.
Mink Brar, actor
The Sana that I know (from Bigg Boss) cannot be involved in anything criminal. She is a naive girl.
Prahlad Kakkar, adman
She’s gone from being a nobody to a nationally-known figure. The media is always looking for some news out of such controversies. I am sure that she will get lots of publicity out of this issue. That will bring her lots of offers.
