It’s close to a year now since actor Siddhanth Kapoor co-starred with his sister, actor Shraddha Kapoor, in the film Haseena Parkar (2017). But even today, people keep comparing their performances and the brother feels both exasperated and amused.

“I find those people stupid, who talk about comparison or competition between me and Shraddha,” says Siddhanth. “I mean, we’re siblings and I don’t think there can ever be a feeling of competition between us. She’s my sister and, of course, I’m going to be happy with her success and in that sense, I’ve never been competitive [with her]. It’s possibly the dumbest thing ever [to assume a rivalry],” adds the actor, who’ll next be seen in JP Dutta’s Paltan.

Talking about working with Shraddha in a film, Siddhanth calls it a “great experience”. He says, “We both are each other’s critics, but it was really easy for us [to co-star] because we’ve always been doing nautankis and all these things [at home]. So, we know how to snap in and snap out [of a role], and it worked in our favour while facing the camera.”

The actor adds that despite being “pretty easy with each other”, they never interfere in each other’s working styles. “We believe in giving each other a lot of space, in general. And while working on that film, if there was anything major, then we’d just put out a point of view in a very normal way and just help each other, but not interfere,” he says.

Siddhanth goes on to say that even though Shraddha is the younger one, most of the time, she behaves like the older sibling. “Basically, she is always giving me advice. Especially, when I’m feeling a little low, she’ll just take over like a sister... like that strong and mature person who’ll take care of me, since I’m more of an emotional type,” shares the actor, adding that “we’re each other’s best friends and we talk about everything on this planet”.
