Sonali’s son wants mom to act again

Bendre might reconsider getting back to movies now, considering her son is willing her to act.

After having a flourishing acting career, Sonali Bendre, is now active on the tube, as a judge on TV shows like Indian Idol and India’s Got Talent. Yet Bendre has always emphasised on the family-first funda. Television, she feels, gives her the flexibility to be at home more often. However, Bendre’s son Ranvir has other expectations from his mother.

Bendre, whose last Bollywood role was a guest performance in Kal Ho Na Ho (2003), did a few Telugu and Marathi films before throwing in the towel to movies. She married filmmaker Goldie Behl in 2002 and gave birth to Ranvir in 2005. Since then, it seemed, she had bid farewell to her career in entertainment, till she became a co-judge on Indian Idol in 2008.

Recently, while having a conversation with her, five-year-old Ranvir happened to ask her why she doesn’t shoot anymore – a question, which quite took the mother by surprise.

Says a source, “Ranvir casually happened to talk to Sonali about her being a big actress and questioned her about why she stopped shooting. He would really like to see his mother on the big screen again.”

Bendre might reconsider getting back to movies now, considering her son is willing her to act. Waiting to see if someone will now offer her a role.
