Sonam Kapoor tried to drop her kaleeras on Janhvi Kapoor, here’s what happened

Sonam Kapoor’s family and friends are having a ton of fun at her wedding parties.

While Sonam Kapoor is tying the knot with boyfriend Anand Ahuja on Tuesday, her cousin Janhvi Kapoor is not too eager about being the next in line. Sonam tried to drop a kaleera on Janhvi’s head at her mehendi party on Monday but not a single piece budged from its place.

In this traditional ceremony during Punjabi weddings, the brides rubs her wrists together to drop a golden piece from her kaleera on her female friends or sisters. Whoever gets a piece, will be the next one to get married.

Of course, Janhvi seemed very nervous about the ceremony and breathed a sigh of relief when the kaleera did not fall on her. Watch the cute video:

The mehendi party saw a performance by singer Sukhbir who sang his popular hits for the guests. Sonam’s father, Anil Kapoor, looked happy as he pulled some crazy bhangra moves on the dance floor with Shilpa Shetty and Karan Johar.

Sonam wore a traditional dress that featured a heavily-embroidered gold blouse and ivory-gold lehena. She matched the dress with traditional jewellery -- jadau neckpiece, maang-tika and jhumkas. Her hair was neatly done up in a long braid and adorned with a white garland.

The sangeet ceremony took place at the Sunteck Signature Island. Sonam and Anand are to tie the knot on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The reception and wedding party will take place at The Leela in the evening.
