'The Lunchbox has no competition from Phata Poster Nikla Hero'

“I think both the films are very different. So, the audience will be open to go and watch both movies. The Lunchbox has no competition from Shahid’s film. We have got a great response at all the screenings so far. The promos have also been received well by the audience,” says producer Vivek Rangachari.

Although the Irrfan-starrer, The Lunchbox, and Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, will hit theatres on the same day, the makers of the former film believe their project will face no competition from the latter.

He adds that since the film deals with the theme of love and belonging, it will attract a mass audience. “People think that it is an unconventional, independent film and will just cater to a niche audience, but it will appeal to a larger segment of viewers,” feels Rangachari.

He believes that actors Irfran and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are also big assets to the film. He says, “They have brought their own skills in enhancing the concept of the movie. They have taken it to a different level.
