Waheeda Rehman to make a comeback soon
The legendary veteran actor Waheeda Rehman will soon be seen in director Anup Singh’s next.
Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman, who has wowed audiences with her acting prowess time and again, is now set to return to the big screen after six years. The 77-year-old will be seen in a pivotal role in director Anup Singh’s next. She was last seen in Delhi-6 (2009).

An insider says, “The film is a love story, and it will be based in a rustic set-up. Waheedaji will play Iranian actor Golshifteh Farahani’s mother. Golshifteh has been signed to play the lead role opposite Irrfan Khan in the movie.” Interestingly, this is not the first time Rehman will work with an Iranian actor. In Subha-O-Sham (1972), she shared screen space with Iranian actor Mohammad Ali Fardin. The film was said to be the first Indo-Iranian co-production.

The insider adds, “Waheedaji and Golshifteh have been bonding a lot. They even did poetry sessions together. Since Waheedaji has worked with Fardin in the past, they spoke about that too. Golshifteh has seen some of Waheedji’s work, and is a huge fan.”
We tried contacting Anup and Rehman, but they both remained unavailable for comments.
