Ranveer Singh has been a part of multiple musical hits in his Bollywood career, but it’s not very well known that the actor has a great love for stage musicals too. According to a source, Ranveer has been indulging a lot in musicals during his ongoing break in London.

“It’s almost a secret that Ranveer loves to watch theatre in the musicals format. The sheer energy, grandeur and vibrant nature of Broadway and the West End have always gotten him hooked to the format,” says the source.

Ranveer Singh will next be seen with Deepika Padukone in their new film, Padmavati.

That’s probably why Ranveer loves to watch musicals when he’s in Europe. “In fact, even before he left for the UK capital, he had planned to catch three musicals. So, he watched Thriller on Sunday evening, and School of Rock and Aladdin on Monday,” the source says.

Incidentally, musicals are a common interest for Ranveer and film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, both of whom have worked together multiple times, and are currently shooting for Padmavati.

“In fact, Ranveer encourages Bhansali to take one of their films to Broadway. Ranveer has often told Bhansali that both Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Bajirao Mastani (2015) can be presented on Broadway, as they have emotional stories with loads of colour, drama and singing and dancing. The actor and film-maker are both very fond of musicals, so let’s see if one of their films turns into a musical someday,” the source says. Ranveer couldn’t be reached for a comment.
