When Kapil Sharma was mobbed in Rajasthan

A huge crowd halted shooting of the comic actor's debut film for two hours

Television star and stand-up-comic-turned-actor Kapil Sharma is aware of his popularity, but recently, the love showered upon him by his fans became too hard to handle.

While shooting for his debut film, directed by Abbas-Mustan, at Kishangarh, near Ajmer, Rajasthan, a mob gathered on the location making it difficult to continue shooting. A source close to the unit says, "The producers had basic security arrangements organised, as they didn't expect much crowd, but around 5,000 to 8,000 people landed on the sets."

Kapil was filming a song sequence with model-turned actor Simran Kaur Mundi, and the shoot came to a halt for hours, as locals occupied every frame. "After failing to control the crowd for almost two hours, Kapil drove off in a car, so that they would disperse thinking the shoot had ended," says the source, adding that though the makers shot with Simran for a while, the moment Kapil returned, the crowd was back.

Confirming the reports, Kapil said, "There was a huge crowd at the shoot which was totally unexpected. The cops helped a lot to control them."

Even Kapil requested them to settle down, as it was the last day of the song shoot, but that didn't help either.

"Ultimately, the Rajasthan police was called and they took around three to four hours to bring the situation under control. After which, they shot the romantic song," says the source. The climax of the film will also be filmed there within the next two days.
